To establish the evidence base for new and existing medicines for children that are both safe and effective we will develop a Research Portfolio that:

• Will pro-actively play a role in translational medicine, developing recommendations, guidelines and biomarkers for novel therapeutic strategies
• Will focus on phase I-IV studies, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic studies and clinical trials, but will also include other study designs relevant to the overall objective, such as developmental pharmacological studies, pharmacovigilance studies, and pharmacogenomic studies
• Is ambitious and will make a real difference to the health and lives of children in the Netherlands, Europe, and beyond
• Will be generated by investigators from a wide range of disciplines
• Will be informed by the views and perspectives of children and families
